My name is Alberto Boscaini. I am a vertebrate paleontologist at the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales of the Universidad de Buenos Aires and lead a research program on extinct mammals at the B.I.S.E. lab.
My research focuses on the study of the extinct sloths from the Americas, with special emphasis on the poorly known species from the South American Continent. I’m particularly interested in the cavities of the skull and their reconstruction with digital 3D imaging techniques.
My long-term goal as a researcher is to analyze macroevolutionary trends among xenarthrans, the mammalian group that includes sloths, armadillos, and anteaters.
